I find it ironic that I'm writing about disrespectful cell phone use, and yet I'm listening to it right now, as I type. The growth of cell phones has expanded a lot, and I am surprised to see how much it has affected the society! (By the way, my cell phone just rang. Uh-oh.) So many people have cell phones now a days, including the youngest, and oldest people. Kids seen in elementary school are even caught with cell phone, which I find quite ridiculous. Cell phones are seen as being a necessity for many due to its wonderful advantages. Technology these days are on a rapid speed growth, and will probably not slow down any time soon. I can remember only about a few years ago when flip phones, or blackberry's were non-existent. My, how times have changed.
It is not rare for me to see someone text messaging a friend during class, or a person on the phone while having company already. A Sunday mass ever goes by where a cell phone does not ring out loud, that's very sad. These actions are no doubt disrespectful. They do not show that you have the proper amount of respect for the teacher, or the company in which you are with. I believe that teenagers do not see the 'rude' perception of using a portable phone, the way that adults do, partly because teenagers have grown up with these pieces of technology. Teenagers do not find it different or being a milestone in history that way that some adults may find it. Adults were much less exposed to technology when they were a child compared to teenagers today. Teenagers find technology part of their everyday lives, whereas adults can see the general difference of its impact.
The use of a cell phone, allows teenagers to interact with one another very easily. I can understand where the need to talk to or text a friend may seem crucial, yet teenagers need to know when it is appropriate to use their cell phone. Text messaging a friend during your English period, is not a appropriate time frame.
I believe that although the use of a cell phone has many advantages it can also be seen as distracting. The following are five rules that I feel are necessary in having when using a cell phone
1) Be aware of the environment you are in with your cell phone. You should know where you should turn your phone off or to either silent. A church is a good example of where you should turn off your cell phone, to be respectful
2) Consider the volume of your voice. Do you ever hear those extra loud people on the ttc? Make sure that you are not screaming on your cell phone as you may disturb the people around you.
3) When in company, keep phone calls to a minimum. It is quite rude to be having a conversation with someone on the phone when you are in the company of other people. If necessary, stay on the phone for a couple of minutes if it is urgent.
4) Cell phones should not be used at all when driving. When you are driving, you can easily be in a car crash and hurt physically. When on the phone, you would be increasing the chances of a car crash.
5) Be conscious off the type of language you are using. Some people are you may find words very disrespectful or inconsiderate.

Watching this particular video was quite comedic and interesting. It made me realize that it is unquestionable that people are in fact unhappy, when they have absolute no reason to be. People do not realize how astonishing it is for us to have the certain technology that we have today.
Being a teenager, we have the mindset that our technology is not a big deal at all. As a child, we have grown up learning how to work a computer, television, etc. We have seen technology evolve and get even more high tech than it already is, that nothing can come as that much of a surprise anymore. Take computers for an instance, when I was a child a desktop consisted of a large tan coloured screen, these days computers are much more high tech, some even as then as my agenda! Teenagers have not seen the types of things that adults have seen. We did not see how much of a big deal it was when households started to have computers. These days teenagers are accustomed to spending several hours with any type of technology. These various types of technology can include anything from battery powered toothbrushes, iPods, MAC laptops, cell phones, and televisions. Can you imagine how human beings were able to create the invention of a battery? I know that I sure can't. It's simply amazing once you take a deep look into it.
I can't lie, there have been a few times where I have struggled with technology. In the event in which my computer is lagging, I get very frustrated and simply irritated. Also, when my cell phone doesn't turn on or does allow my to text my friends can be very stressful. I take technology for granted and do not realize that we are privileged to have these assets. The certain items that I would not be able to live without include my cell phone, my computer, my stereo, and the television. These pieces of technology are used everyday and I would not be as entertained each day if I did not have these items.
In my opinion, I feel that some pieces of technology can waste my life. I always find myself in the situation where I spend too much time on websites such as facebook, or youtube, uselessly wasting time. I believe that without pieces of technology I would most definitely spend more time with family and friends. I think that I should decide on where I spend my time properly so that the time I spend with family and friends, is more than I spend using technology.

There is no doubt that video games are a very popular type of entertainment and have been integrated into many teenagers daily lives. Many people have different opinions on video games, some believe that it is a negative asset in our society, others are in love with video games and can't get enough, and others like myself are on the fence about the topic.
Personally, when I use electronics for a long period of time, I get a sense of having no life, or being very lazy. I do not like this feelings and would rather be outside at the park or hanging out with friends or family. I understand that this is a personal choice and others would want to rather stay inside finishing their level. I find it quite amazing that some people are able to play video games for more than five hours.
I feel that it is also parents responsibility to make sure that their child is not constantly always playing video games. Parents should get their kids active in activities or anything else rather than sitting there doing nothing important. Video games is not a very educational activity and can waste a teenager's childhood.
I believe that enough is enough when teenagers look forward to going home just so that they can play their video game. In this event, teenagers are relying on these video games as a source of entertainment and are getting hooked unto them. These video games are designed to provide hours of entertainment. When teenagers play them, the need for moving onto the next level is crucial. This makes teenagers not wanting to put the game down, or excited to play it again.
Although it may seem that video games has many negative assets, it does give a great sense of entertainment. It keeps teenagers busy, and some parents even like it because it allows for them to have a quiet house. Teenagers should realize that there is a boundary of being obsessed with video games and spending a few hours a week to keep entertained.
